Affiliate link disclosure
This page explains how we handle affiliate links in our blog guides. An affiliate link is a link to a company's website that lets the company recognise that the visitor came from us: if you then buy something, the company may pay the site that published the link a commission. The price you pay does not change.
No active partnerships today
As of 6 October 2026 we have no active affiliate programmes. When a guide mentions an antivirus, a backup program or a password manager, the link goes to the maker's website without any affiliate code, and the choice of product does not depend on a commission.
Affiliate links in older articles
Some articles published in previous years contain links from affiliate programmes the site had joined in the past. They concern these brands:
- Surfshark (VPN)
- SentryPC (computer monitoring)
- Temu (accessories)
- Hostinger (hosting)
- SiteGround (hosting)
The shop may have received, or may still receive, a commission on purchases made through these links, at no extra cost to the reader. We have left them in place because they are part of articles already published, but every article that contains them says so at the top and the links are marked as sponsored, so search engines know what they are too.
How to recognise an affiliate link
- At the top of the article you will find a box saying that the guide contains affiliate links, with a link to this page.
- The box only appears when the article really contains links of this kind: we work it out from the links themselves, we do not write it by hand.
- Guides without affiliate links say so in the author box.
When we join a programme
If we join an affiliate programme in the future, we will name the company and the programme here, and every article with those links will show the disclosure at the top. We will never say we have tried a product unless we really have.
Questions or reports
If you find a link that you think should be disclosed, write to us from the Contact page. For the details of the sole proprietorship see the Company details page.
